MotometerCentral is fortunate to be a member or contributor to a number of great automotive industry heritage preservation organizations and to be able to use its website space to draw attention to them and their endeavors.

 

The Historic Vehicle Association is a MUST JOIN organization for anyone and everyone serious about automobiles throughout the ages, access to accurate automotive industry historic data and information and, heritage preservation for today's and future generations to come.

On July 27th, the HVA opened its new "National Laboratory" in Allentown, Pennsylvania.


On October 20-22, 2016 the HVA will be holding its annual national conference at its new Allentown, PA Laboratory facility.   The focus of the conference will be "Putting Preservation on the Road: Protecting Our Overlooked Automotive Heritage in the Twenty-first Century."

 

MotometerCentral's founder, Francis G. Clax, has been selected as a distinguished paper presenter and conference speaker to appear at the conference event.  Francis will speak about the origin, signifance and generally overlooked nature of motometers in the annals of automotive history despite their expansive contributions to the development of the modern internal-combustion engine automobile and success as the forerunner of American hood ornaments.

A special book will be assembled and published based upon the paper topics.

ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE CLUB OF AMERICA (AACA) FALL SWAP MEET

October 5 - 8, 2016 are the dates of he world's oldest, largest and best antique and classic car meet, show and event that brings together more than a half million truly passionate automobile enthusiast from around the world.

The weather looks as if it is going to be extraordinary for such an outdoor event.  Vendor spaces are going quickly as are hotel rooms.  RM Auctions/Sotherbys will bring an exceptionally fine assemblance of collector car candidates to its annual auction.  So, their auction should be quite festive and energetic.

The AACA Library & Research Center will hold its vehicle literature Yard sale on Wednesday afternoon.  Literally tons of hard-to-find or obsolete books, brochures, pamphlets and other emphemera will be available for the first time.

SOCIETY OF AUTOMOTIVE HISTORIANS

The Society of Automotive Historians (SAH) will also have a booth at the AACA Fall Swap Meet.  SAH Members will be present and happy to invite new membership and answer questions.  The Society of Automotive Historians Hospitality Tent which will be located in the Orange Field at space OBB 17- 19.

The SAH will also hold its annual Awards banquet at the Hershey Hotel where we will find out who and which organizations earned recognition for their contributions to the automotive history preservation industry.
