NOVEMBER 9 - 10, 2018

International Motor Racing Research Center

Watkins Glen, NY

For the fourth year the International Motor Racing Research Center and the International Motor Sports History Section of the Society of Automotive Historians is sponsoring and facilitating the Michael R. Argetsinger Symposium on International Motor Racing History on November 9 - 10, 2018 at the IMRRC headquarters in world famous Watkins Glen, New York.

The theme of this year's symposium is "The Cultural Turn Meets The First Turn" for the purpose of "highlighting the diversity of the motorsports experience."

Distinguished automotive industry historian from around the world will convene to speak on various related subjects, topics and provide unique historical perspectives.

The keynote speaker will be Buz McKim, retired historian of the NASCAR Hall of Fame Museum.

MotometerCentral™ Founder Francis G. Clax has been asked to present at the Symposium.

Francis will be leading a discussion titled, "Americans Enter Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing."

This lively presentation will examine the early history, effect and legacy of American road racers and how their presence enhanced and changed Grand Prix motorcycle road racing at the time and ever since from a number of perspectives despite the late entry to the series by the Americans and the long history of motorcycle manufacturing in the U. S.

Francis has spoken at the four year annual Symposium each of the last three years.  He is both proud and elated to have the opportunity to return for this year's event.

You can click on the symposium Brochure icon image below to learn more about the event or else you can visit the IMRRC website at http://www.racingarchives.org/ or call 607-535-9044

The Symposium is free to attend.
