Jean S. Argetsinger Symposium on International Motor Car Racing History

BEHIND THE SCENE OF A GREAT EVENT -
Don Capps, heading up the SAH's racing heritage historical preservation effort as chairman of the SAH International Motor Sports History Section put in a masterful job soliciting papers for presentation participation, coordinating the selected papers into a comprehensive and cohesive Symposium, structuring the event format and working with both Tom Weidemann and Glenda Gephart of the IMRRC to arrange the myriad of minute details, including scheduling, use of three facilities, video productions and live streaming of presentations via the internet, audio-visual equipment availability, presenter credentials and coordinating with the Watkins Glen Elks Club to host the end of event dinner (which was incredibly delicious and thoroughly enjoyable). Don also served as Master of Ceremonies and stepped to present Jonathan Summers' paper on "Little Joe" Weatherly. Needless to say Don was indispensable and very, very busy!

The 2016 Jean S. Argetsinger Symposium on International motor racing History was a terrific event, it was open to the public at no charge, well-attended and held in the historic racing town of Watkins Glen, NY.
We, at MotometerCentral look forward to attending next year and hope to see more of you there!
