MotometerCentral™’s Founder, Francis G. Clax, is unquestionably the world’s foremost authority on the subject of early Twentieth century automobile radiator-mounted engine temperature indicators or motometers.  He regularly shares his vast knowledge, collecting experience and extensive artifact collection with heritage institutions worldwide to help bring greater appreciation of these important contributors to the development and preservation of pre-WWII vehicles.


Francis is a regularly requested or a selected presentation speaker at antique automobile and historical association industry conferences and international events.  He writes articles for numerous automobile publications and scholarly professional papers besides overseeing operations of the MotometerCentral™ website.


This February Francis was extremely busy an exhibition of his motometer collection; speaking engagements; writing; developing motometer-related products for collecting enthusiasts; growing the Motometer Collectors Association™ and, assisting customers to properly restore or locate motometers.


Other than the original inventor, Motometer Company Founder and associate employees no single individual has or is currently doing more to advance the notoriety and awareness of motometers than Francis G. Clax.
