MOTOMETER DONATION
MotometerCentral’s™ founder Francis G. Clax was very surprised and pleased to receive another motometer donation to the MotometerCentral™ motometer automobilia collection. At the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Eastern Division National Fall Meet in Hershey, PA fellow Society of Automotive Historians member Robert “Bob” Barr presented Francis with a rare 1918 Overland model BOYCE MOTO-METER™ Standard Type with the more rare top screw plug.
Our friend, Robert Barr
Overland Motor Car Company-specific BOYCE MOTO-METERs™ of this period has a different from usual radiator attachment bolt shape than other similar Types.
Bob was able to salvage this one from being thrown out with some other items that belonged to a late automobilia collector. Although the particular MOTO-METER™ suffered a broken thermometer temperature-indicating instrument and is not currently functional Francis is the right person to receive this item. Bob was extremely thoughtful to think of Francis, save the MOTO-METER™ and give it to him.
It jut so happens that Francis has a donor BOYCE MOTO-METER™ with a working thermometer that can be used to replace the broken one and make the donated one fully and correctly functional again. Francis greatly appreciates Bob, his thoughtful and generous donation as well as on-going friendship and honest camaraderie.
